A few days ago I was shopping for more yarn (like I don’t have enough of it already) and I came across this so, so soft one. It was like the scene from the movie Despicable Me when the little girl gets the fluffy unicorn… “I’m so fluffy that I am gonna die!”, and the name for the project was born.
I bought two of them. Gray and red. I couldn’t wait to come home and start working. The moment I touched the wool I knew what will be my final product. I don’t need much, just yarn, hook, and a marker.
And so I started. First I’ve made the booties. If you are crocheting for boys do it without the bow and for girls with a bow, which you can place anywhere you want. My choice was in the front.
Please be careful, each time you attach additional items on the booties make sure you attach them very well, always think about the kid’s safety!
They are so cute and fluffy! It’s super fast to make, and it’s easy.
Because there was still a lot of yarn, I had more than enough to make a beanie too.
Enjoy!

Beautiful design….today can be considered very Dr Who….because ‘Bow ties are Cool!’ of course 🙂
I just came across your website. I absolutely love your patterns and you are so generous to post them free for our use. Is there any way I can print the pattern??
Have a super Christmas holiday, Marlene
These are too cute! I just bought some Spun bamboo yarn, it is bulky (5) weight.. do you think this will be compatible with your pattern?
Thank you 🙂
Taylor
Hi Taylor,
I use For Seasons Gründl yarn, Alaska for this project. Ravelry link: http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/four-seasons-grundl-alaska 🙂
Hope it helps 🙂
Happy crocheting!

What hook is 7mm
Hi Angela
7 mm crochet hook is a size between K/10 and L/11. It’s metric crochet hook size. You can read more about crochet hooks here: https://crobypatterns.com/crochet-lesson-1-how-to-use-a-crochet-hook/
I’ve made like 10 of these for my girlfriend who is pregnant, they are so cute my mom said she wants to hang them on the wall :p
Do you have a pattern like this in child sizes? Am trying to do it myself but keep coming up lop-sided or just not matching….I’m not so good with the altering of patterns lol
Hi Rebecca
I am so happy to hear you like the pattern so much. At the moment the max size for booties in my patterns is 12 months. I thinking about adding bigger sizes in the future too. 🙂 I know that sometimes changing the yarn weight or changing the size of the hook just isn’t enough. Especially when you are already using big chunky yarn for the project. But just like I said, it’s definitely on my to do list. 🙂
Hi Doroteja
I love this pattern, it is gorgeous. I couldn’t figure out how to get this pattern so I could print it off. Could you please email it to me. I can’t wait to get started on it.
Regards Mal
This pattern is so cute and I want to try making them for my new granddaughter. But I don’t see in the directions what the sizes are. Can you clarify?
Hi Kris
This baby booties are written in three sizes: 0 – 3 months (3 – 6 months, 6 – 12 months).:)
Hello! I love these and thanks for sharing. I need to make something for my friends daughter who is due in October. Do you have a printable version on this? When I print it doesn’t come out right and to many pages. I have a hard time staring at computers this is why I’m asking. I appreciate it.
I found your pattern and it is perfect for making and donating them. ButI am confused on Row 4.
It says
Row 4: Chain 1. Sc 5 (6, 8). Hdc 2. Repeat dc2tog six times.
How do I do the dc2tog if I haven’t yet made any dc’s. ???
Thanks so much!
Just repeat dc2tog stitch 6 times. 🙂
Hi Doroteja
Love this pattern for the booties and hat want to make them for my friend the only hook I have right now is a H/8-5.00 mm is there a way to adjust pattern to use this hook?
Thanks
Hi Stacy,
The pattern is written in 3 sizes. Try to use the pattern for a larger size you actually need. 🙂 Happy crocheting! 🙂
Can you tell me how long each product in the three sizes will be when it’s finished??
I just finished making a pair for a friends grandbaby – Now mind you I have recently thought myself how to read patterns and this was so simple for me to do. They turned out so cute.
Is there a way that I can print the pattern so I don’t lose it?
Thank you so much.
You can print it directly from browser or you can save the post to your bookmarks. 😊
The numbers written in the ( ) are for larger sizes. 🙂
Thank you for sharing.
Hi ive just crocheted this beanie, but is only 12″ and a 0-3 month beanie is normally 14″ so im now having to undo the whole beanie and start again
I am sorry to hear that Sofie. What if you add a few rounds with a couple of increases in each round at the bottom of the beanie to make it bigger?
Hello,
I absolutely love this pattern. I am a beginner crocheter so I am having a hard time following the pattern. Is there a video somewhere I could watch or could you make a video?
Thanks, Amanda
Hi Amanda!
I sorry, but not for this tutorial. You can find a very similar pattern for crochet baby booties on my Youtube channel. They are blue with large buttons on the sides. 🙂
Hello what is the gauge for this pattern? I don’t see it anywhere
I am sorry, I did not write it down when I was making the pattern. This one was one of my first few patterns I’ve made. At that time I had no idea how important the gauge actually is. 🤦♀️
I used a super bulky chenille type yarn, category 6, and size K crochet hook, 6.5 mm, to make a 0-3 month bootie. But the bootie looks giant! LOL It measures about 4.25″ long and about 3″ wide. Do you have the approximate size of your finished bootie? I hope the yarn is not too big, since it does say “super bulky”. I’m not sure if using an even smaller crochet hook would help. Any suggestions? When using this chenille yarn, it’s so fluffy, it can be hard to distinguish the stitches to see where to insert the hook 😉 Thanks
Hi Karen! This pattern is from the very early stages of my pattern writing and my crochet journey. As you can see a bunch of information is missing and just a few of them are gauge and project measurements. 🤦♀️ If my memory is correct, these baby booties were normal size. This means the length of the sole was not larger than 10 cm. 😄 I remember my yarn was very thick and this golden color crochet hook is definitely a 7 mm crochet hook because I still use it all the time. 😀 I think I have never worked with chenille yarn before, therefore it’s hard for me to say or make any recommendations. All I can say is, use stitch markers to mark your stitches and if you can’t see the stitches, other people won’t see them either. That means the yarn is probably very forgiving and if you miss or add a stitch or two, nobody will notice. 😄
